The city had seen many changes since Vampires and Shapeshifters became legal, stepping out of the closet so to speak. There has been loss, death, sadness and love. The master of the city is presumed dead, the vampire Kiss in tatters and enemies lurking in the outskirts, waiting to take the city as their own. Shapeshifters are vanishing and RPIT, the preternatural police task force are doing all they can, and as usual are under staffed and under paid. Allot can happen in one city, the lights, the shadows, all merging into one, crazy ride.

500 years have past since the laws allowed Vampires and Lycans to be viewed as legal citizens. Much history has passed since then, the Great war, beginning in 2032 and ending in 2091 in which the vampires and Lycans fought humanity, demanding solid equality, the many human wars that followed. Now in a technologically advanced world, ancient creatures wander amongst us in high numbers.
Vampires and Lycans are 100% legal, there are no more prejudices, unless you count the ones behind closed doors. vampires have high powered jobs, as do shapeshifter and there is no need to hide in the closet any longer. A cure for the shapeshifter virus was invented, offered to those who wish it. On top of that a means to allow Shifters to bare full human children has come into play. For the past twenty years the ability to halt a woman's shift for nine months has been very successful. Medication is given to the mother to prevent the disease passing to her child. Before hand pregnant shifters either had to abort the baby or get cured.
Crime in Yeovil is high though, especially in the Dead Zone, preternatural crimes are also on the up, though execution orders have been wavered, Vampires and preternatural beings have fair trials now. The Yeovil Police have come under fire recently for police brutality, and unsanctioned executions. Whether this is true, in a city this large, gossip spreads like wild fire. Many are hinting there will be another war, whispers that the vampires are planning to take over. This, of course is heavily fuelled by the fact The Current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is a human servant and residing in Yeovil.
Space exploration has just reached its most prolific stage, Vampires themselves joining up into the Space Fleet, better suited for the many months in the dead of space, and long travel expeditions. Currently no Extraterrestrial life has been discovered on any of the planets visited.
