This is the true Me
Likes:
- Peace and quiet. Not utter silence, mind you, but relative quietude.
- Evening nature noises, such as the rustling of trees and leaves, owls hooting, crickets chirping, and the like.
- Nighttime. He's fond of the darkness.
- Thunderstorms and lightning. Kazuya loves seeing lightning streak across the sky (especially when it's dark) and he loves hearing the sound of thunder.
- Blackouts. It's fun to walk around with candles.
- Sweets. Especially milk chocolate, brownies, and cheesecakes!
- Bubble tea. Yum. And green tea, of course.
- Music. Particularly of the classical kind, but he's known to love rock and j-rock as well.
- Playing instruments. This normally includes piano, violin, and cello; he's quite talented with the first two in particular.
- Fish. Kazuya has a soft spot for fish. He even has a small jar of water containing his pet fish in his dorm, having smuggled the pet into the building somehow.
- Video games.
- Reading. Normally manga; oddly enough, he shies away from classical literature and the like.
- Puzzles.
- Strange foods. Such as things that are excessively spicy or sour, or simply taste really weird. A classic example of something weird he seems to enjoy eating is wasabi sushi. Or just wasabi, by itself.
- Extremely windy days.
- Photography. He takes his camera around occasionally.
- Snow.
- Naps.
- Being by himself. Although, that does not mean that he dislikes company, either, so long as said company isn't annoying.
- Mangoes. And peaches, definitely.
- Blood.
- Observing. Also known as people-watching.
Dislikes:
- Level E's.
- Extremely loud, annoying, or repetitive sounds.
- Bright, sunny days that are too hot.
- Shrill, shrieking, or strident noises.
- Unwanted company when he wants to be alone.
- Bitter foods.
- Boredom.
- Classes.
- Being too cold or warm.
- Having to actually work, whether that means during class or some other time.
- Distractions.
- Fangirls. Being one of the vampires that they squee over continuously, Kazuya hates having to deal with them.
Habits:
- He smiles a lot. Of course, a good many of them are not genuine, but no one is ever able to tell.
- Kazuya tends to engage in an activity of 'people-watching'. It's not that he's being creepy, more like he's interested in the process of observing others and seeing how they react to things. More often than not, he files away bits of information and keeps them in his mind in case he ever needs to use something against anyone. It's quite scary to realize just how much he might know about someone for the sheer sake of blackmail, or something equally unpleasant.
- He occasionally hums.
- Kazuya often eats cheesecake, milk chocolate, and other sweets when he's alone. He also drinks green tea or bubble tea when alone as well. No one knows that he does this, though.
- If he hears that people dislike something, he tends to purposely like whatever it is that's being disliked. No one really knows why.
Personality: Kazuki is...suffice to say, a very mysterious, enigmatic person. If he doesn't want you to know about him, chances are, you will know nothing about him. Several moments spent with the perplexing male tend to make people more confused than they were at the start. To a certain extent, he's rather self-serving, so he has a ruthless way of doing whatever it takes to obtain that which he desires.
Kazuya is quite the actor, so it's easy for him to do as he pleases without others getting in the way, since he normally maneuvers in such a way that it's impossible for people to stop him. However, he never shows the full extent of his intelligence, skill, or talent unless it proves absolutely necessary, which has never happened yet. This proves helpful, considering his status -- others constantly try to take advantage of him and manipulate him. Little do they know that he's the true manipulator who's controlling their strings with the graceful ease of someone who really knows what he's doing. He can play an act for others and show them what they want to see and hide everything he wants to hide. He knows what he's doing, all of the time, for he never lets his guard down. There's also the point that he never gets into situations that could possibly cause him to lose something. Evasion is key, after all.
Although selfish, Kazuya is charming to an almost unnerving degree. He constantly smiles -- although, admittedly, most of them are fake ones, but no one can tell the difference but him, anyway -- and he speaks with natural charisma that reels people in and ensnares them. People adore him, and with good reason, even if somewhat shaky. There is no person he cannot charm, no person he cannot manipulate to his liking. He has nothing to fear, and even when he does have something or someone to fear, he never experiences the feeling of terror that most people feel. Fear is a foreign concept to him, and he's quite willing to leave it just at that.
To a certain degree, Kazuya is slightly sadistic. He actually finds it fascinating if others suffer a bit, but, at the same time, he occasionally feels twinges of guilt. Nonetheless, he himself highly dislikes pain, both mental and physical. All in all, Kazuya is quite a strange person. Nonconformism goes hand-in-hand with the unusual vampire. All things weird intrigue him. Just to be different (and maybe spite some people), he tends to like things that people dislike. Unfortunately, he is only too easily bored -- everything is a game to him, and that is his downfall. He doesn't take most things seriously, but when he does, he is truly a force to be reckoned with.
History: From the start, Kazuya was born to into the darker side of society -- the side that constantly dealt with balance and politics. He was born on a dark, stormy night, precisely at midnight, amidst crackles of lightning and the booming of thunder. From there, as he grew older, he learned that his parents, two purebloods of high standing, were constantly forced to watch their backs for those who wished to take advantage of them. In the vampire society, all purebloods were in danger of being manipulated...especially the younger ones. Thus, from a young age, Kazuya was tutored harshly, learning things that were never meant for children to learn. It was for his own good, of course -- his precocious mind registered that earlier on -- but even so, that did not mean that he liked the lessons.
His father had been the one to insist that he take lessons. His mother, on the other hand, had always been a soft-hearted, gentle lady; for this, Kazuya always fond himself looking up to her, adoring his mother with all of his heart. However, one day, the elegant lady was called off to a meeting with vampires in another country -- exactly what the meeting was about, Kazuya did not know, but the whole situation ended in grief. While she was there, Kazuya's mother was murdered by an unknown killer and left to rot in the dirtier parts of the town she had been in. Kazuya only realized this when he overheard his father discussing it...and, at that point, he also realized that his father had also been the one to orchestrate her death, claiming that getting rid of her would give him more power, as he would have to take over the things that she was handling.
It was at this point that Kazuya succumbed to the darkness that had been accumulating in him since he was a young child. He killed his father, activating his pureblood abilities in order to do so. There was no evidence against him, so it was later assumed by the general public that the person who had killed Kazuya's mother had come to kill his father, as well. Initially, Kazuya experienced regret and guilt, but the emotions soon wore off, overwhelmed by the darkness that was within him. His remorse gone, he returned to living as he did before everything occurred, except, now, he was more mature. Raised by close family friends after his parents' deaths, Kazuya continued life as usual. Soon enough, hearing of the Cross Academy, he enrolled in the prestigious academy. He found that the concept of vampires and humans getting along was hilarious and, to a certain extent, ludicrous. Nonetheless, he opted to go there for himself and observe what would ensue. Observing was one of his habits, skills, and talents, after all.
